This blog will tell you about my garden....what it looks like from week to week, season to season. There's no logic to its layout. We inherited its basic structure from previous owners. It's too expensive to change so I've made the most of it. It started off completely devoid of any plant life apart from a struggling rosemary officinalis which I allowed to live until it started to get a bit thuggish. The trees and all the planting has been introduced over the past 7.5 years.

The sun really does exist! And the effect on the garden is astonishing. I'm going to have to get a move on if I'm to do everything on my list.....now where did I put that list?

Spring has sprung
At last the sun is shining, the frogs are croaking, the birds are singing, the bumble bees are buzzing and most importantly the soil is warming up allowing the plants to grow. I shall now be panicking about getting everything done before going away for a month. We're off to Greece for the whole of May leaving the housesitters in charge. Unfortunately they're not into gardening!
Blogger is giving me a hard time again today so can't label individual pics. If you look carefully you'll see a jay in the centre of the first two and our colourful laundry at the end!!
p.s. In case you're wondering, the props on the fence are essentials from last year when the fence blew down hours before our flight so emergency measures were taken using old lumps of wood and the washing line. Worked wonderfully well and still haven't got round to doing something more permanent!

The only gardening done at this address has been popping in a few cuttings in the front garden. These were kindly donated by Nailsea friends who also fed us!
Back garden is slowing waking up but nothing to get excited about so the photographs today are of elsewhere.
This is not our garden gate and I'd love to know how the owners get in and out!
These pics are taken from the hamlet of Charlcombe, bits of which we can see from here (our house). It's a beautiful place and very peaceful. Bella likes it up there as there's a very small pond that she can splodge about in! (Bella's our dog - see afterbella.blogspot.co.uk)

The only photograph I can place is the rather strange topiary taken outside the grounds of a famous vacuum cleaner designer/manufacturer who lives quite close to Bath (so I'm told!)
That's all for today as my garden is still frozen solid and so will I be if I spend too much time in it!
